A Quick Tip
Purchase your Wayne firewood long before you intend to burn it for your home heating, recreational, and cooking needs. Store it properly and bring the firewood indoors at least 48 hours before burning.
Seasoned Hardwood for a Superior Burn
Take it from us. Hardwood is the far superior option. Softwood is easier to light and less expensive, but you can expect to use more of it than hardwood. They also produce more smoke and burn out quickly. Hardwood creates a hotter, longer-lasting fire because it is denser. You’ll use fewer logs, and it will give you a hotter burn without all the smoke.
- Burns longer and cleaner
- Produces less smoke
- Gives off more heat
- Ignites quickly because it’s dry
- Creates fewer sparks
At Deeke’s, your safety is a top priority, which is why we favor hardwood over softwood. Hardwood is very dense. As a result, it leaves less creosote than softwood—a residue that can clog the chimney flue and even cause fires if left unmaintained.
