Burning Firepit

Bartlett Seasoned Wood

Get a better burn with Deeke’s. Our Bartlett seasoned wood has lower moisture content because it’s allowed to dry for over six months. This drying process means your firewood will ignite and burn more efficiently.

Our Seasoning Process

Harvest

We use ethically sourced wood from our friends at Abbott Tree Care.

Cut and Split

Split logs have more surface area, helping the wood dry more evenly.

Stack

Proper firewood stacking allows air to circulate around the wood.

Dry

Our wood is left to dry naturally in the open air for months on end.

Store and Burn

Once the wood is dried, it’s ready to be stored or used for burning.

Cooking with
Seasoned Wood

When wood is freshly cut or falls from a tree, its moisture content is usually about 50 percent. This is called green wood, and it’s not suitable for burning. Moisture prevents fire. Rather than creating flavorful smoke, burning greenwood does not add to the taste and reduces the fire’s temperature.

Our Bartlett seasoned wood adds a new level of flavor to your food. Whether grilling, smoking, or baking in an outdoor oven, Deeke’s seasoned wood infuses your dishes with a natural, smoky flavor. Less moisture also means your fire burns hotter and cleaner, allowing for more consistent cooking temperatures.

You should watch out for creosote if you’re using a wood stove. This is a chemical that comes out of burning wood. Wet wood produces more creosote, increasing your chance of a chimney fire. Using Bartlett seasoned wood can help make your home safer. Less moisture means less creosote buildup.

Seasoned Firewood Stacking

Properly stacked firewood cures faster, stays drier, and lasts longer than piled firewood. Upon delivery, our crew can stack the wood in any location you’d like, indoors or outdoors. Schedule your Bartlett firewood delivery and stacking now.
